How to Reach – There are many ways to reach Shimla like air, road, and train. If you are planning through air transport then Shimla Airport is your destination and the nearest airport to it. It is around 20 km from the main Shimla. By train, you have to book tickets for Kalka because there is no direct train for Shimla. Then from Kalka, you have to book tickets for Shimla of Toy Trains. A toy train is also a railway service that leads you to Shimla from Kalka. If you are planning for road trips or using bus service then direct buses also available from Delhi to Shimla and from other parts. If direct service is not available in your state then you can travel from Chandigarh bus terminal also.

Ideal season and days – Shimla is famous for its cooling place and nature, the peak season is April to July. You can travel in any season you want, and also snow in winters i.e from January. Ideal days will be 3 maximum in which you will cover Kufri, Kasauli also.

9. Chail


Chail is an interesting slope station and was established by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. It is situated in another way which is diverted from Solan to Shimla. Supposedly, Bhupinder Singh stole away with the girl of the then Viceroy of India from a spot currently known as Scandal Point.
