Nainital is a beautiful hill station for many travelers which is situated in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state. It is situated at an altitude of around 2000 m. Nainital is one of the other most popular tourist places to visit in Uttarakhand then Mussoorie. The beauty and nature of Nainital attract millions of people from the country. It is also one of the closest hill stations to visit from New Delhi around 295 Km. The popularity of Nainital is increasing day by day due to its nature and beautiful valley. In recent times Nainital is the must-visit hill station in summer, as many visitors travel here.
Nainital is situated in the beautiful valley of Kumaon region which is one of the regions in Uttarakhand other than the Garhwal region. Nainital is also a honeymoon place for couples and also likely good for friends and family. The place Nainital is also famous for shooting location, many shooting had done here.
How To Reach – If you are planning to travel through train then the nearest railway station is Kathgodam in Haldwani which is around 36 Km from Nainital, you can take the bus from here or some private taxis also. And if you are traveling through the airplane then Pantnagar Airport is nearest to it which is 70 Km from it. By road, you can easily travel from anywhere to Nainital by govt. buses and private also.
Best/Ideal season and days to visit – Nainital is the place to can visit in any season, depends upon you. The peak season is summer season ( May, June, July ), but in winter also you can enjoy here with minimum temperature and snow. It totally depends on you. 1. Nainital Lake
The First Place to visit in Nainital is the Nainital Lake also called Naini lake. When you enter the Nainital, this is the first place to see. In the middle of Nainital city, this beautiful lake has a beautiful viewpoint and center of attraction. Boating is also available in the lake for much interesting to do and also different types of boating.
2. Tiffin Top
Another viewpoint is the Tiffin Top viewpoint, from here you can view nature by your own eyes. Don’t forget to take a camera with you as you will miss capturing a beautiful scene of your life. You can reach here by trekking or by horse riding because there is no other option to explore the place. Horse riding will cost around 500 – 800 per person. Don’t miss this beautiful viewpoint, you can also trek here and save money.
3. Snow View
Another viewpoint where you can explore with your family and friends. The snow viewpoint is the viewpoint from where you can see the high mountains of Himalayan range Nandadevi. Powerful Telescope is also available to adore the snow-covered mountains and the view which is adorable to see.
4. G B Pant High Altitude Zoo
G B Pant High Altitude Zoo, the zoo which is situated at very high altitude from sea level. This zoo is a very famous viewpoint in Nainital, you have seen many zoos across the country but in the mountains, this zoo gives you a different view of nature. The ticket price is 100 Rs per person for age above 12. You will find out many animals which you see at any other zoo in India. Zoo remains closed on Thursday, so make sure not to go on Thursday.
5. Mall Road
Another Mall road which is the same name as in Mall road Mussoorie. Mall Road is situated alongside the Nainital Lake. Famous for shopping and eating, and different arts of shops which are famous in India. You can explore Mall road at any time and much crowded at night.
6. Cave Garden
Another attraction view of Nainital is Cave garden, the garden has a cave-like structure made of rocks and mountains having an entry of the cave and exit. Ticket price is Rs 60 for adults, Rs 25 for children and the timing is 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. The cave garden is full of adventures and this is for you if you want adventures trip. Other activities are also in the Garden which you can enjoy.
7. Shri Maa Naina Devi Temple
Naina Devi Temple is a beautiful temple to must-go place in Nainital. This beautiful temple is situated near Mall road and the Tibetan market. You will find peace and enjoy it here.
8. Hanuman Garhi
It is also the top attraction point situated around 4 Km from the main city. The beautiful Hanuman Temple in the hills with a view of sunrise and sunset. You should also explore this place for peace and the view of the beautiful place. You cannot take pictures inside the temple. A maximum number of people skip this place and mainly don’t know the place but you should explore this place.
9. Naini Peak
This peak viewpoint from which you can view the entire Nainital city with beautiful Naini Lake. This is the highest peak in Nainital. The viewpoint is adorable and fantastic, you should cover this place while exploring.
10. Lovers and Suicide Point
Nainital is famous for its different viewpoints. Lover and Suicide point is also on them. This point is situated near to each other and the most beautiful viewpoint.
